Bargain Buys

When I first started this blog I thought it would be strictly used as a way to keep up with my kids comings and goings before they were all grown up. I'm realizing that my kids are funny, smart, cute, and exhausting:) and I guess my entries to this "computerized paper" don't have to be all about them! Even though they are constantly on my mind, they're not constantly with me and I do really neat things and fun stuff that I would like to remember about myself. Here is one thing that I think is so much fun...

Bargain Shopping
My motto: Why pay full price for anything, if you don't have to!
My Valentine Day Fun...After our fancy chickfila lunch, Dave brought the kids home and I went to JCPenney(one of my favorites as I feel I always save. Maybe I don't and that is their marketing strategy, but on this trip I really think I did!) They were/(maybe still are) having their 75% end of the season sale and I also had with me my 15% coupon for filling out a survey. I purchased five items for myself... three shirts, a sports bra, and an "exercise" jacket. When totaling up the original tags, the price came to $169.00. When they were all discounted and my coupon added, my final price with tax came to a little over $23.00!! I was thrilled to pieces and like the clothes so much more!
My mother has taught me well. The funny thing is it use to irritate me as a teenager(my mom always went straight to the sale rack) but I'm so thankful now! My motto has even been rubbed off onto Molly. She asks before placing an item in the cart, "Is this on sale, or do you have a coupon?" Oh well, I hope it teaches her the value of a dollar!
